Curbside Trash Collection

The rules for trash collection in Whitemarsh Township are based upon a contract between the township and JP Mascaro and Sons, for collection. To provide efficient and economical service, it is necessary that everyone complies with these rules. Whitemarsh Township and Mascaro each desire to provide the best possible service to the residents of Whitemarsh Township. Your cooperation and assistance in reaching this common goal is appreciated.

All Collection Times Begin at 7 A.M.

It is not possible to set firm collection times for each neighborhood because of unforeseen circumstances along the route. To ensure that your curbside materials will be collected, it is recommended that you place them curbside the night before, but no earlier than 7 p.m. Trucks will not return for materials placed curbside after 7 a.m. on collection day. Emptied containers must be removed from curbside no later than 10 p.m. on collection day.

All residential trash must be enclosed in up to 6 waterproof bags or containers each no heavier than 50 pounds. Please do not place yard waste curbside with trash - yard waste is collected separately on Mondays for all collection areas.  Some bulk items are also collected with regular trash, but residents should call the Township at 610-825-3535 to confirm what type of bulk item to make sure it is acceptable for regular trash pick up.

Mascaro requires that all mattresses and box springs be wrapped and sealed in plastic when disposed.  The Township sells queen-sized plastic mattress bags for $2.00/each at the Township Building during normal business hours.  Plastic bags can also be purchased at most home goods stores and moving companies.
 

Holidays Collection Schedule

There is no collection on the following holidays:

• New Year's Day
• Memorial Day
• Fourth of July
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Christmas Day

When your trash and recyclables collection day falls on a holiday, your trash and recyclables will be collected on the Monday of that week in the affected district, and yard waste moved to Saturday for everyone. Missed Collections:

If your trash, recycling, or yard waste was curbside on time, but missed, please contact the Township at 610-825-3535 (ext. 0).  You can also email your address to info@whitemarshtwp.org The Township will add your address to the following day's list.
